About CCCWHC

Founded in 1976, the Central Coast Community Women’s Health Centre (CCCWHC) has been a pillar of support for women on the Central Coast. As a feminist organisation with centres in Wyoming, Wyong, and Woy Woy, CCCWHC provides comprehensive health services, including clinical care, counselling, advocacy, legal advice, and crisis support. Operating on Darkinjung land, CCCWHC is one of NSW’s twenty women’s health centres and a recognised charitable organisation. Recently, the CCCWHC has launched a strategy to better reach and support women in need, improve visibility in the community, and secure diverse funding to sustain its impact.

About the Board

Central Coast Community Women’s Health Centre Ltd. (ACN 001 330 472) is governed by a board of five to seven members, elected for three-year terms, with a maximum of three consecutive terms. The CCCWHC board is deeply committed to making a positive impact on the lives of women in the community and meets seven times a year. In compliance with ACNC requirements, board members are not remunerated.

Board Director Profile

To support the successful implementation of the new strategy, the board is seeking to appoint three (3) board directors with the skills and expertise needed to drive these goals forward.

CCCWHC is looking for board directors with:

  • demonstrated skills in governance and strategic planning, ideally complemented by AICD qualifications or equivalent.

  • an understanding of health sector management.

  • strong financial acumen.

  • relevant networks within health, government, or community sectors.

  • a willingness to actively participate in board activities and subcommittees.

  • a genuine commitment to the CCCWHC’s values, strategic goals and advocacy initiatives.

  • integrity, ethical conduct, and professionalism, with a proven track record in upholding high standards.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable:

  • Fundraising and Development

  • Marketing and Communications

  • Legal, Compliance and Risk

  • Finance and Investment

  • Human Resources and Industrial Relations

  • Systems and IT

  • Executive Leadership

Aboriginal women, women who have a disability, and women of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to submit an expression of interest. CCCWHC is entitled to appoint only female and transgender-female candidates due to the nature of the service, under the Anti-Discrimination Act, 1977 (NSW) Section 31.
